Advisory Council Conducts Fall Meeting
The Advisory Council of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary gathered for its Fall meeting on the 19th of October. The nine members present at the meeting heard various reports and then sought answers and clarification to questions so that they might better advise the Seminary rector in his task of being father and leader of the Seminary community.
Report topics included the strength of the student body, the beginning of online learning and increasingly more stable finances. These reports greatly pleased the members of the Advisory Council.
A current review of academic credit load for both M.Div. (Seminary) and M.A.T. (School of Theology) students and the announcement of inroads to federal financial aid for students were important topics on the agenda.
The customary report by the student representative led to important dialogue and considerations by the Rector and the Advisory Council.
A wealth of information on strategic communications planning was presented and a discussion on the role of the Seminary Board of Directors in this regard concluded the agenda.
The Advisory Council is scheduled to meet next on 3 May 2011.
