Seminary Accreditation Office

7Mrs. Helen Kennedy, Director

Ss. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary has held The Association of Theology Schools (ATS) accreditation since January 2008 and currently holds accreditation for the period 2012-2019.   To guide the Seminary, a Strategic Plan was developed and adopted by the Board on August 11, 2014 and was accepted by ATS.  The plan was developed during the spring and summer 2014 with collaborative effort of faculty, staff, students and administrators.  The Board of Directors approved the Strategic Plan at the August 11, 2014 meeting.  Subcommittees  are formed to complete the required responsibilities as provided in the ATS standards.

The Director of Accreditation leads all efforts of the committees who are responsible for understanding the requirements of accreditation and gathering data to support their recommendations.  Also, the Director of Accreditation chairs the Strategic Planning Committee, coordinate meetings of planners and writers, chair meetings of administrators and faculty concerning ATS Standards, and provides guidance to all who are involved in the Seminary’s accreditation process in order to achieve reaccreditation from ATS in 2019.

We are blessed with dedicated faculty, staff, administrators and external people who love the Seminary.  Working together, we are committed to focus our efforts to maintain ATS accreditation for Ss. Cyril and Methodius Seminary.
