B.C.S. Seminarian Ordained Deacon in New Mexico

At a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the Feast of the Dormition, 15 August 2023, parish son, Thomas Donlin was ordained to the diaconate. Deacon Thomas has completed three years of theology (now called “Configuration Stage” in priestly formation) at B.C.S. and is now in the first weeks of his fourth and final year.

The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Kurt Burnette, apostolic administrator of the Eparchy of Phoenix, was preceded by Thomas’ ordination to the minor orders of reader and subdiaconate.

Days before Deacon Donlin’s ordination, he attended the Eparchy’s Clergy Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada along with the priests and deacons who serve in the Eparchy.  As the role of the deacon is to assist both the priest and the lay faithful in their liturgical worship of God, let us assist the newly-ordained deacon by continuing in our prayers for him during his continuing formation and discernment.
