Minor Orders Conferred at the Cathedral

The B.C.S. community was thrilled to witness the conferral of minor orders on nine of its students at the Byzantine Catholic Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Munhall, Pennsylvania on Saturday, 15 October 2022.  The Cathedral was filled with family and friends of the ordinands as Archbishop William Skurla conferred minor orders on three of his seminarians and six of his deacon students.

From the Seminary’s Community of Priestly Formation:

Luke Iyengar was ordained Subdeacon;

Nathanial Tapsak was ordained Reader;

Tyler Wisniewski was ordained Reader.

From the Seminary’s School of Diaconal Studies, the following students from the parishes noted were all ordained Reader:

John Cencich (St. Gregory, Upper St. Clair);

David Dominguez (St John Chrysostom, Houston);

Joe Hancharick (St. Nicholas, Nanty Glo);

Douglas King (St. Andrew, Gibsonia);

Barry Smith (St. Stephen, North Huntingdon);

Michael Yewcic (Holy Trinity, Conemaugh).

May God grant to these men who continue their journeys of formation and discernment many blessed years.
