Archbishop William Skurla ordained Seminarian Thomas Wells of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh to the Order of Deacon on Sunday, June 3rd at St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. In addition to many of Tom’s family and friends, clergy in attendance included Protopresbyter of the South and Pastor of St. John Chrysostom, Fr. Elias Rafaj as well as Spiritual Directors of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary Fr. Will Rupp and Fr. Ron Larko (St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA) and Deacons Gary Stafford and Jeff Mierzejewski.
