A Spring Break for Discernment

The Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius welcomes men in discernment for visitations. Most young men who are discerning take advantage of our annual “Come and See” retreat program in November. Other college-age discerners visit for a few days during their spring breaks.
B.C.S. provides such visitors the chance to experience a slice of the life of a seminarian at B.C.S. With permission from instructors, these visitors get a true snapshot of what it is like to live the life of a seminarian by participating in various academic classes. In the chapel they are surrounded by fellowship and liturgical prayer as they discern a future in ordained ministry.
Young men visiting the Seminary on break have the opportunity to speak with current seminarians and staff in order to ask questions about the Community of Priestly Formation, the application process, theological questions, and the practical aspects of the program from start to finish. It is a great time to get closer to God and discern if one has a vocation to the diaconate or priesthood in the Byzantine Catholic Church.
Recently, our seminarians were happy to host John Barnes, Jack Morgan, and Anvhu Nguyen who visited the Seminary during the Great Fast. We look forward to other visitors next year!
